How to get to the Maraú Peninsula-Bahia-Brazil.

By Airplane:

From your destination to the Airport of Ilhéus city - Bahia.

There are regular flights from TAM and GOL Airlines.

We suggest you to arive in Ilheus in the mornig because of your transfer to the Peninsula.

The transfer direct from the Airport has to be booked in advance with us.

A vehicle will pick you up at the airport and from there direct to the city of Itacaré 80 Km from Ilheus. From Itacaré , you will cross the Contas River with a Ferry boat and then pure Offroad 30Km to the Sitio Algodoes Guesthouse at Algodões beach.

We recommend to cross to the Peninsula in the morning because of the dirt-road conditions at the Peninsula.

If you arive in Ilheus city in the afternoon, we recommend to book a hotel for over night, in Ilheus or Itacaré.

BY CAR:

Coming from Salvador:

In Salvador city you will have to cross with the Ferry boat to the city of Bom Despacho, then drive to the city of Camamú at the BA-001 road. Than continue at the BA-001 to MARAÚ.

The Praia dos Algodoes is located 10Km from the city of Marau. It is the first beach (right side)driving at the BR-030 from Maraú city to Barra Grande.

Another option: Is to drive to the city of Itacaré , 80 Km from Ilhéus city.

From Itacaré, you will have to cross with the Ferryboat the Contas river, and from there on 14 km dirt road passing the entrance of Maraú city and another 9 Km to the Algodões beach where the Sitio Algodoes Gesthouse is located.

Before entering the Peninsula we recommend to call us, to know about the dirt road conditions, do to the weather.
